Cullercoats Bay

So much to do right on your doorstep.

Explore Cullercoats Bay with its Smugglers Caves and marine research facility, popular with families and still used by fishing cobles. The RNLI Lifeboat operates here and you can often watch them out at sea on training exercises. Go early morning rockpooling, visit the exciting Blue Reef Aquarium, take a boat out on Tynemouth boating lake, climb St Mary's Lighthouse or explore Tynemouth's ancient Priory, all within easy walking distance. For day trips, explore the many country houses, gardens and castles - spectacular Alnwick Castle where Harry Potter was filmed, is just 45 minutes drive.

Close at hand are local shops, lovely Italian, Indian and Chinese restaurants, an organic Victorian ice cream parlour, not to mention Bills traditional fish and chip shop, which is always a hit with our guests. The Queen's Head pub around the corner serves traditional fare and has entertainment many nights.

We are proud to have 'adopted' Browns Bay in association with the Marine Conservation Society, doing our bit to help preserve the natural beauty of this beautiful coastline.

Take an easy day trip to explore the Roman Wall, Northumberland, Durham, York, Edinburgh and the Lake District.

Explore the ancient Priory and quaint antique shops of Tynemouth.
